Sometimes trance/******t music helps to consentrate to the meditation, if mind is not peacefull. Normally I don't need anything else than do not be disturbed during meditation.
I find the meditation music too slow for me, I much prefer the trance, dubstep and techno music which is odd I know but, it really forces me to concentrate on it rather than trying to get past the slowness of it. Hard to explain but essentially the type of music I choose to meditate to isn't for everyone.
I find anything that is instrumental great from trance to dubstep but my favourite music is always sound healing (Frequencies.). I also like house music.
White noise is also great a fan or something recorded but i usually get caught in thought with this.

I know it seems odd to other people that music isn't music unless it's busting out windows or tearing the brain in two when you listen to it or worse, so piercing you go deaf listening to it. Who needs it? I really enjoy Enya who has some really cool music. I would be surprised if she started out producing music you could meditate to, it's that good.
