    Default Greetings, all...

    Greetings,

I am new to this forum, but I am not new to meditation. Although I have no "formal" meditation training, I have been practicing some form of meditation for more than 10 years. However, I must also admit that my meditation practice has been very inconsistent lately.

Also, I am currently working on my masters degree thesis with the general topic of, "Meditation as a Spiritual Practice". So, with that introduction I'd like to say that I am very interested in how people of different faiths and denominations approach meditation, either as a spiritual practice, or as a secular (strictly psychological?) practice.

    Thanks!

Let us question the so-called knowledge.

First, what is "spiritual practice"? this commonly used term is very misleading, the so-called spirit ( there isnt one, im just saying for the sake of the argument) cannot do any so-called practice, only the mind and body ("ego") can practice. So change the title to "Meditation as an ego practice"

So the second question arises, "if meditation is just another ego trip, why should i do it?", the answer is simple, your so-called masters and enlightened ones have lead you to believe that there is some ultimate state of consciousness, or final liberation or some ultimate bliss.... but there is none of this i can assure you.

Third, you know nothing of meditation, your knowledge is just borrowed from your so-called enlightened ones, all your knowledge is borrowed, if it was the writer, he would do no thesis at all. If youre gonna do a thesis, dont do it on meditation because it will only mislead you and the people around you.

We THINK we know but we dont - so why bother.... with a thesis....
