    Default New 23 year old Male

    Hey everyone
    im Mark from Southampton UK, im 23.
    8 Months ago i developed a panic and anxiety disorder which left me feeling ill and weak all day long and have upto 10 panic attacks a day, this in turn lead to health anxiety.
    A month ago i started doing a very very very basic kind of relaxation/meditation where i just spent 15 minutes in the morning before getting up, laying in bed and listening to music and just focusing on the beat of the songs, i let my thoughts go where they wanted and if the anxious thoughts appeared i just focused on a calming place (which for me is a rainforest just after a storm).
    I had many wild and vivid thoughts and imaginings all of which where enjoyable and calming, i did this for a week and found that my panic and anxiety slowly subsided and as of today it has been a month and 2 days without an attack.
    I am still slightly skeptical bout all the energy and religious aspects of all this but i cannot deny that what i did worked for me and i am very open minded, so i would like to learn more and see if i can benefit more greatly from this.

    Hi and Welcome,

    Meditation and calming the mind with sounds is the best way to combat anxiety it is great you had the sense to follow that and keep it up. I love the sounds of the forest with the water drops off the trees, though I do really enjoy any sort of gentle noise to relax.
