It’s really nice to see your post. Your post is quite informative and helpful. If you really think about it, it does make a lot of sense. Meditation is so easy that even young children can practice meditation.

Choose a tranquil location - one free from distractions.
    2
Decide whether you'd like to have meditation music in the background.
    3
Select a comfortable chair or place to sit, and assume a sitting position with your spine relatively straight.
    4
    Close your eyes.
    5
Breathe in, allowing your rib cage and belly to expand as you inhale.
    6
    Exhale slowly.
    7
Concentrate on your breathing. Be aware of each breath and the feelings of deeper relaxation.
    8
Allow thoughts and feelings to enter your mind. Acknowledge them, allow them to pass, and refocus on your breathing.
    9
Open your eyes after you feel more relaxed and centered

I had a therapist teach me something similar to this except you sit an empty chair within view, imagine yourself sitting in the chair and proceed much as you describe. You can permit the other to take turns with you. It's you of course, just another way of releasing the emotions and allowing, as you said for it to stick. I use this method myself as I'm not comfortable in releasing my emotions in group sessions, I'm more of a loner, so, this method may work for those who are shy and reserved like myself. It's not only liberating but you feel so much better after Talk Meditation. One of my favorite techniques. I am glad you brought it to light.

I've done this type of meditation before and there's been a couple of times I've started to cry and cry hard. That in itself is very rewarding because you feel deeply and when it's finished you feel light as air and clean inside. I've had really good cries that made me feel like I've had one heck of a whole body work out.
