I did yoga for about a year. I have always been a fairly stiff football player, so yoga is pretty uncomfortable. Because of my bad knees, I can't even sit in what we call "Indian style" in America (legs-crossed, sitting on the ground) because of how uncomfortable it is on my knee joints.

That's the main reason why I meditate in a chair, versus on the ground.

I've tried Yoga too but found I cannot do the positions anymore, my 50 year old frame just doesn't bend that way even after doing the stretches. I have also put on quite a few pounds since I did yoga, so what I started doing is Pilates which is fluid in movement and not as harsh with the joints. Even so, I have days usually before a storm when doing Pilates isn't happening.
