    Default Christianity in Present Times

Christianity, like all other religions has its pros and cons in our present times. Maybe the advantages dominate the disadvantages because this is one of the largest religions in the world. A lot of people adhere to the Catholic/Christian religion yet still a larger number conform yet other religions. Possibly for the reason that they see the weaknesses or it maybe simply because their parents have taught them differently. Nevertheless, The Christian religions do offer much more of an agreeable impression than other religions which are as big as the Christian. Christianity is one of some religions where reparations for sins are not harsh. In Christianity, eventhough you were sinful all your life, as long as you atone for your sins in the end, you will have salvation and given eternal life.

    Hello
Christianity (from the Greek word Xριστός, Khristos, "Christ", literally "anointed one") is a monotheistic religion.
[1] based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament.
[2] Christianity comprises three major branches: Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy (the two split from one another in 1054 A.D.), and Protestantism (which came into existence during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century).
[3] Protestantism is further divided into smaller groups called denominations.
[4]Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God, God having become human and the savior of humanity. Christians, therefore, commonly refer to Jesus as Christ or Messiah.

    Thanks

Christian meditation is a form of prayer in which a structured attempt is made to get in touch with and deliberately reflect upon the revelations of God.[1] The word meditation comes from the Latin word meditari which means to consider or contemplate. Christian meditation is the process of deliberately focusing on specific thoughts (e.g. a biblical scene involving Jesus and the Virgin Mary) and reflecting on their meaning in the context of the love of God.[2]
Christian meditation contrasts with cosmic styles of oriental meditation as radically as the portrayal of God the Father in the Bible contrasts with discussions of Krishna or Brahman in Indian teachings.[3] Unlike eastern meditations, most styles of Christian meditations do not rely on the repeated use of mantras, but are intended to stimulate thought and deepen meaning. Christian meditation aims to heighten the personal relationship based on the love of God that marks Christian communion.[4][5]
In Aspects of Christian meditation, the Holy See warned of potential incompatibilities in mixing Christian and eastern styles of meditation.[6] In 2003, in A Christian reflection on the New Age the Vatican announced that the "Church avoids any concept that is close to those of the New Age".[7][8][9]
Christian meditation is the middle level in a broad three stage characterization of prayer: it involves more reflection than first level vocal prayer, but is more structured than the multiple layers of contemplation in Christianity.[10]

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS or Mormon) are Christian and yet do not believe in this last part of your post regarding having a sinful life only to atone and so on. Actually, the whole idea of a death bed atonement by confessing one's sins or absolved through a person representing Christ is not part of the Mormon belief at all. One lives their life as closely as possible to the way Christ lived his life. If one did not live it as closely then the belief is he does not gain eternal life no matter how much s/he may want it. The reason is that God is a God of law and rule, namely the 10 commandments handed down to man. The lesser law actually for it was believed when Moses received the original laws there were more than 10 and far more elaborate requiring more accountability and more of his people until they were found to be acting in the most carnal and vile ways imaginable in Moses's absence. He destroyed the tablets and received a revised set of Laws for mankind. Whether or not this is truth or handed down stories is anyone's guess. The fact is, the church holds the life and teachings of Christ sacred following in his footsteps from birth through death. Converts often feel intimidated because the feeling is, if you aren't born into the church, there are aspects of the religion you would never hope to obtain such as the high calling of serving a Mission or being sealed to one's children born out of wedlock whether or not the child was conceived willingly or not.
