    Default Best Meditation Technique

Meditation can be used for anything.

    - Motivation.
    - Self-Confidence.
    - Emptying the mind and letting go of things.
    - Preparing for something to come.
    - Decision making.
    - Simply being in a constant state of thinking.
    - etc.

It depends on the person and how they look at meditation.

I use it to think things through or to prepare myself for something to come.

If you empty your mind and see yourself being everything that you ever wanted to be, it will boost your motivation, determination and resolve.

P.S. There is no best. There is no way that someone can tell you that "X" way of meditating is the best. Everyone has his own and unique way of thinking...saying that X system is the best for you is just plain stupid.

The paths are endless, I read somewhere once that a spiritual life is an endless spiral which is in all directions, you could say this is meditation, the usefulness is endless and the outcomes are boundless, you can achieve what you set your mind to.

The best way that we can create that change is to change our thoughts from being negative to positive. The positive discovery about meditation is that we are focusing within our self and becoming free of negativity. Meditation techniques simply involve a process of transforming yourself, your thoughts, and recognizing the negative thoughts, and changing them into positive and peaceful thoughts.
The best attitude towards meditation is to be very patient as the mind does not always want to focus. Having a sense of expectation towards positive results can create uncomfortable pressure and thus take away the enjoyment of the experience. By practicing meditation regularly, the person whom meditates gains a wonderful sense of the self.
Meditation is a self healing process; any form of stress is a sign of our negative thinking and this ease within our mind. If we don't attend to this ease in the mind we may find that chronic stress can lead to disease of the body.

Meditation technique, just like anything else, has been through a lot of changes since its first inception thousand of years ago. Today, we know people are practicing Healing Meditation, Zen Meditation, Mantra Meditation, Hindu Meditation. The list goes on with Moving Meditation, Passive Meditation, Candle Light Meditation, and a few others. For beginners, the overwhelming numbers of techniques, literature and advertisements could be very confusing. For those who has already started one technique, this could also create a problem, because each technique claims that it's the best technique.

Before we go on deciding which Meditation technique is the best, let's begin with what is Meditation? Meditation is one way you communicate and become one with The One, The Beginning of Everything, or God we used to call It. The true essence of meditation is to feel and experience the unity itself. After all, we are all Light Beings seeking human experience, not the other way around. A lot of beginners are not well informed about this, and they meditate for healing, for "spiritual growth" or even ascension without really understanding what that means.

Some people go all the way to meditate with an extreme measures, just because it has been the only way in their cultures. Some belief meditation could make one to become "God like" or some kind of super human. People are doing this because they feel that they are only human who needs more power to become more like Spiritual Beings. They forget that we are all part of The One. We do not need more and special power to become like Him, we only need to be fully conscious that we are part of Him. We already have the Power.

Now that we are fully aware what meditation is all about, and what meditation could and could not do to you, what is really the best Meditation Technique? The best technique is the one which brings you closer and closer to The One. The best technique is the technique which "remind" you who you really are , regain your full potential and full consciousness. This technique never ask you to give your power away to any living person or even Light Masters. It could be accessed directly from The One, not through any particular ritual or certain teachings.

The fact of the matter is, meditation technique is as personal as the individual itself. Trust your intuition, follow your heart, and go with the technique you're most comfortable with. Always think of your teachers as your fellow traveler with respect, but do not give your power away.

Do your meditation regularly in the stage of Pure Unconditional Love. This must not feel like a chore, do it because you are fully aware that we are all part of The One, we are all Light Beings seeking human experience. Happy Meditating.

I guess my question has always been, that, if meditation is getting closer to God (The One, The Creator), does it matter how we contort our bodies if it feels great just to get comfortable no matter if it's on one's head, in the fetal position on the bed, sitting sideways in a chair? I never understood why sitting cross legged on the floor had anything to do with the art of communicating with God. I can't get in that position or if I did I couldn't get back out without a pry bar and a lot of help.

I practice more passive meditation and to me, finding a position that is comfortable, with music in my ears that is pleasing to my senses, and concentrating on my breathing is how I roll. I have used candle meditation (campfire and fireplace fires too), sometimes i close my eyes and imagine I am staring at a lit candle. I don't know if it matters much.
