You can try keeping your eyes open and staring at an object or a flame, there is no need to visualize as some people like you have trouble with it and it is a distraction.
If you don't like sitting you can either exercise and focus on your breath while doing it and zone out or do a form of yoga both will have the same effect as meditation.
But if in the future if you wish to achieve visualizations try while going to sleep.
